One Room Challenge-Week 2
Here we go One Room Challenge – Week 2! I had some delays but back on track with the bedroom makeover.
Week 2 Bedroom Makeover
Hello dear friends, it’s week 2 of our bedroom makeover for One Room Challenge… And that’s exactly what this week has been, a challenge!
A few days after I joined, I sliced my finger on a mandolin, not the musical instrument kind, but the kitchen tool kind. Just a heads up, a mandoline is quite dangerous if you don’t use it the right way as I did.
This injury really put limitations on what I can do.
If that wasn’t enough, it was Easter weekend and I had 20 family and friends to cook for. It was challenging but so lovely and well worth celebrating with everyone.
I recruited my husband to help with the room makeover. Even though, he always helps me with my major projects.
We are transforming our daughter’s bedroom from a teen to an adult room. You can see the moodboard and the plan in the last week’s post.
Removing Pallet wall
We started by removing the pallet wall behind her bed. Even though I love the pallet wall it’s time for a new look for her room.
The pallets came off the wall easily with a little crowbar and a hammer to pull out the nails. We’ll patch up the little nail holes and paint. Next, we will add the wood accent to the wall.
The wallpaper – Asian waves
I stumbled onto this beautiful Asian waves peel-and-stick wallpaper. I received it yesterday and I love it! This is my first time working with wallpaper and I’m a little nervous about how it’s going to look.
Choosing paint for the bedroom
I extracted the darkest color, teal blue-green from the wallpaper for the wood accent wall behind the bed. Rest of the room we chose the lightest teal blue-green color from the wallpaper.
Off to closing up the holes and painting…
Hope you keep following along to see each week’s progress! Check out the other talented participants!
