Step-by-Step Guide: How to Make a DIY Faux Magnolia Fall Wreath

1. Gather Your Materials

Before we start crafting, make sure you have everything you need to create your stunning fall wreath.

I went with the faux magnolia leaf wreath because it’s long-lasting, weather-resistant, and looks just like the real thing. The wreath will look fresh all season without any wilting, and I can store it away for next year.

2. Decide where to add the natural element to your wreath

It’s time to determine how you want your wreath to appear. Arrange and rearrange all the natural elements evenly around the wreath to get the desired look before securing them onto the wreath.

I started by placing the wheat stalk at an angle all around the wreath to give it a wispy edge. Then the other elements, while stepping back to see the positioning of all the accents.

Once you are happy with the look, you can take a picture of the wreath to refer to it in case the objects are moved during the attachment.

3. Secure the natural elements to the wreath

Now it’s time to secure all the natural elements to the wreath!

After all the elements are in place, use your hot glue gun to secure them. Make sure the heavier elements have extra glue to hold them in place.

I started from the back and worked towards the front.

If you want a more dramatic look, create clusters of your natural elements (for example, a group of wheat stalks paired with dried florals) to add interest to the wreath.

4. Fill in Any Gaps

I added moss to fill in gaps or hide excess glue and to add texture and color. Step back and take a look at your wreath. The key to a stunning fall wreath is making sure it looks balanced from all angles.

5. Optional: Add a ribbon to your fall wreath

For an extra pop of color, add a fall ribbon to your wreath. Choose a ribbon in a rich, autumnal shade like burnt orange, mustard yellow, or deep red. You can tie it into a bow at the top or bottom of the wreath, or use it to hang the wreath on your front door.

A fall wreath with ribbon adds a festive touch that is perfect for welcoming guests!

6. Hang Your Faux Magnolia Fall Wreath

And just like that, your DIY magnolia leaf fall wreath is ready to hang! Whether you place it on your front door, over the fireplace, or in your entryway, it will instantly add a warm, cozy fall atmosphere to your home.
