Fall porch and Halloween decor
Creating a fall porch and Halloween decor can be simple and tons of fun.
Simple fall porch and Halloween decor ideas
Hello friends, cool, cozy autumn is here. Trees are showing off their splendor with their beautiful red, yellow, and orange colored leaves. Soon they’ll all be whisked off the trees and to cover the ground to add natural seasonal decoration.
I got a late start this year in decorating for fall because of our trip to Itay a few weeks ago. But I’m happy to finally share with you our fall front porch and our Halloween decor.
Creating a festive fall porch
To start, I mainly used heirloom pumpkins this year, I love their odd shapes and different colors. I also love to change things up each year, you can see a few of my previous fall porch decor here and here.
It’s easy to give the front of your home a refresh for the fall season. Layering pumpkins of different colors, shapes, and sizes give your entrance a warm, welcoming entry for your guests. When I shop for mums, I go straight to Costco, they have the best mums and the best prices! Costco mums are so vibrant, extra large, and last all season.
To add longer life to the mums I soak the mums in a large bucket of water for about 15-20 minutes. Water them as needed and they will last for a couple of months. I have been doing this for the past few years and this method seems to really prolong the life of the mums.
Added a few branches of faux Eucalyptus branches to soften some areas.
Added a few different color mums to bring the colors of the season.
The assortment of pumpkins, gourds, and mums creates a warm and welcoming porch.
Lanterns with a candle and a few decorative accessories create warmth.
Sprinkle a little Halloween decor in the midst.
Twinkling orange lights cascading down the steps give a beautiful glow at night.
The life size animated witches and ghouls come to life when the sun starts to set.
Hope you all have a very Happy Halloween!
