Make a beautiful heart-felt wreath for Valentine’s Day
Hi friends! I have a really simple and easy project for you to decorate for Valentine’s day. After seeing so many heart wreaths on Pinterest, I decided to create my own. This “heart-felt” wreath covered in felt roses is a perfect way to welcome Valentine’s day. Also, this is a great project that’s simple, using only a few supplies and you can do it with your kids. Here is how to make this easy heart-felt wreath for Valentine’s Day.
Place this wreath on your front door for a welcoming touch to your entrance.
Supplies you’ll need:
– Red Felt 1/2 yard
– Styrofoam heart shape
– Scissors
– Hot glue gun
To create this felt valentine heart wreath, I bought the red felt fabric at our local fabric store Save-a-thon. If you don’t have access to a local fabric store or a Michael’s, Joann Fabrics, you can purchase red felt here.
I laid out the wreath form on the felt fabric, then cut the fabric in the heart shape leaving a few inches around.
Cut slits around the form making it easier to wrap.
Then cut 5 inches felt squares, I did 4 at a time in order to speed up the process.
Draw a haphazard swirl on the felt squares and cut along the lines.
You are left with a squiggly strip of fabric…
Take the end section (not the curly cue on top) and start rolling to create the flower.
Fire up your hot glue gun and add a bead of hot glue at the end and the bottom of the flower so as not to unravel.
I made enough to cover the front of the heart wreath form.
Then add the glue on the bottom of the roses and press it onto the wreath form. Continue adding roses around the wreath until all of the spaces have been filled.
I love how cute this wreath turned out! It can be hung on a door, inside or outside (as long as it is under an overhang). Displayed on a mantel over a fireplace is sweet. Adorn a shelf with the wreath, candles, flowers, and any combination of accessories you can put together.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial… Wishing everyone a wonderful Valentine’s day sharing with your loved one!
